Simple Steps to Good List Hygiene
Target the contact's whose emails you wish to validate by creating either static or dynamically populated group in Act!, and Link2list will only check those contact's email address. This could be your master marketing group from which all your small marketing groups are comprised.
Link2list creates the required field in your Act! database, and then indicates whether that contact's email address is valid, invalid, accept all, or unknown.
Link2list is an online service, meaning you can run it from anywhere - including tablets and Mac's. No need to have Act! installed, Link2list uses the WebAPI to connect to your database from anywhere.
Link2list can be configured to run against as many groups as you wish, each with their own schedule. Configure Link2list based on what makes sense for your unique database.
Link2list offers two types of email verification - our native service and one that integrates with Briteverify.com. Both authenticate the email addresses in your list at similar speed and accuracy, but the native service requires little or no setup (Email verification fees are sold separately).
Configure Link2list can be configured to run a scan on a designated group on an automated basis each day, week, or month. You can even exclude contacts that have been previously scanned to save costs.

Keep your email list current & accurate by running regular scans. Over time existing contact's email addresses become invalid, and new contact's will be added, so it's important to run Link2list regularly to maintain good list hygiene.
Real-time Email Verification API: The single-verification API is ideal for integrating point-of-capture data verification into your own applications. This transactional email verification API should be used in response to an action, like a form submission or button click. It should NOT be used for verifying emails in an existing list or database one-by-one. So for that purpose, you may utilize the Bulk API.
Please note that our native email verification system introduced in late November 2023 does not require a BriteVerify API key.
There are only 4 statuses for an email in Link2list and BriteVerify.
Valid: The email represents a real account / inbox available at the given domain
Invalid: Not a real email
Unknown: For some reason we cannot verify valid or invalid. Most of the time a domain did not respond quickly enough.
Accept All: These are domains that respond to every verification request in the affirmative, and therefore cannot be fully verified.
No, it cannot because an API connection cannot read a web based lookup. The API uses the record manager's credentials to access the data directly, not an active login session. Our Opt-in Manager API utility has the ability to work with a basic or advanced query of contacts, but it cannot see a current look-up.
By default the answer is No. If an email address has been scanned and the Email Status field updated, Link2list will skip over that address, and you won't be charged. If, however, you wish to verify emails that have been previously checked, you can click the checkbox below the Link2list settings, and it will scan ALL email addresses in your selected group. In this case you will be charged by Validity.com for those rescans.
No we do not. The customer's BriteVerify account is in no way linked back to Keystroke, and we're not paid in any way from Validity.com, which speaks to the confidence we have in their service.
Absolutely not. All three legislations have different principals, priorities, and penalties, but none pertain to your individual bounce rate. Your bounce rate can impact your domain reputation and your account with your email service provider (ESP), which also includes Act! Marketing Automation. Continued bounce rates in excess of 5% can lead to account suspension and eventual termination without refund.
Most email service providers (ESP's), including Act! Marketing Automation deem anything below 5% bounce as acceptable. Continued rates above this threshold can lead to account suspension, and eventual termination if not improved.
Yes, you can configure as many scans for as many groups as you wish, but each scan can only be linked to one group.
